Tip Top TV Show |

The Tip Top TV was an independent comedy pilot broadcast by commercial TV networks in Moscow and St. Petersburg. As usual for our pilots of that time, it was a fun program where we were searching for new TV comedy formats for the networks in Russia. The format of the show was a relatively eclectic TV montage of short comedy sketches shot using video clip techniques. Having a proven experience with stand-up comedy routines developed for stage and club performance, in Tip Top we tried to combine and recreate these routines in television environment of studio and field production. In terms of comparison to the US broadcast, I would say it was pretty close to the Comedy Central material like The Short Attention Span Theater and more. For many of us, it was a creative re-union of the Dreamteam members. |
